DANCE VIETNAM AND RHYTHMS IN SAIGON
HO CHI MINH, VIETNAM – 26 Aug 2017 – On the afternoon of August 26th 2017 at Le Méridien Saigon hotel, workshop called “Dance Vietnam & Rhythms in Saigon” was inspired by John Huy Tran, a reputable choreographer and professional judge of many dance entertainment shows in Vietnam. He is also one of the seven members of LMSG Ensemble, an art project initiated and introduced by Le Méridien Saigon since Jul 07th 2017.
This was an opportunity to introduce Dance Vietnam, a community as a platform where different dance groups connect and create new choreography. The event had the participation of various active dance crews specializing in different popular genres in Vietnam such as break dance, dance sport, contemporary and hip hop. Furthermore, there was also the presence of Khanh Thi - international dance sport champion, Viet Max – dance choreographer/ director and Nguyen Tan Loc - founder of Arabesque, a modern dance company. They shared their insights of current Vietnamese dance community and express the passion of establishing a new and profound platform for the talented dancers to unite, support, be creative and learn from each other regardless of their background or dance styles.
It was also shared during the event that this workshop was just the beginning for the upcoming and large-scale event named “Choreographer’s Ball”, featuring talented dancers of Vietnam diverse dance performances to raise awareness of Vietnamese dance culture.
